Profiling Beds
Care homes use profiling beds for less mobile residents. Or in homes that have stepped up care levels to provide superior care.
Full of functionality. Most electric beds can be controlled by the user. This means he/she can select the most suitable height for getting in and out of the bed, sometimes with little or no assistance. The adjustable height is so carers can set the bed height for caring activities and repositioning residents. Residents independently adjust the height to suit them for getting out of bed safely. And carers put the bed at its lowest height, reducing the risk of residents falling out of bed.
The infinitely adjustable mattress platform moves using the handset. For instance, residents or carers moving the backrest and kneebreak up to a comfortable position easily. Also stops the resident travelling down the bed. Positioning both backrest and kneebreak functions together to position the resident perfectly and reduces pressure, shear and friction as it moves.
Profiling beds are fixed in place by brakes on each of the castors. Providing a stable platform for residents and carers using the bed.
More safety is provided for residents with the use of safety sides on the bed. Raising and lowering the safety sides at the right times to heighten safety.
The safe working load for each bed should be noted to make sure the person is safe when using the bed.
Using a suitable mattress ensures the resident has a suitable surface for their level of pressure damage risk.
